Dear Fr Bill, great to see you are still in the parish. If anyone can remember me I would love to hear from them. I am now 71 and went to St Michael's School then went on to St Anthony's. We have now lived in WA for 42 years. Love and blessings to all. Val

    Hi again to everyone,
Coming over to Houghton for a few days next week from N Ireland and am bringing my guitar with me. Hoping to play at Mass, so get your voices ready for some new hymns.   (Bringing words with me).
    Dominus vobis cum,
    Have a good day,

My great grandparents Bryan and Frances Cunningham were married in the Chapel in 1892, by Father OŽBrien.  I really enjoyed reading the description of him on the website.  It was also so nice to see the photos, and to see what Bryan and Frances would have seen.

Best wishes to all, especially the descendants of Irish immigrants to Houghton.

Hello everyone, especially you,Nicky. I just wanted to thank you for a wonderful site which has given us great pleasure in  viewing and reading. It has been so touching to see and learn about our ancestor`s church, and of the history behind it. Many of our Keegan family worshipped there and its where they were baptised, made their 1st Communion,Confirmation and many of them married there too. Just reading about the Carmelite connection made my heart jump as I am a secular Carmelite.
I am hoping one day to visit the parish and look forward to participating in Mass with you all in the home of my ancestors.
Its been a very strange feeling of `home` visiting your parish site, and one of being welcome too, so thankyou for all the hard work that has gone into producing it.
with my love and best wishes, catherine

Heart Hello to everyone at St Michaels. Thought for today:
People and Nations are not great by virtue of their wealth but by the wealth of their virtue, and St Peter in his 2nd letter tells us to add virtue   (moral excellence, courage) to our faith. In the age we live in, it will take more than faith if we are going to stay true to the Gospel.
Wishing you all the very best
    Yours in His service,
    Gerry.
