Let us continue to look at what 6 years (2 terms) of James Ouzts & Gunnar Rasmussen have done for the home/property owners in White Settlement (this city chief source of tax revenue). Under these two watch, poorly maintained rental property, that even to the untrained person is clearly not in compliance with the same codes as home owner homes are held to, have increased. Some of the rental property in our city has not been inspected sense the 60's, if ever. Home owners who purchased their homes in hopes of leaving the headaches of apartment life behind, finds themselves caught in even a worse nightmare. Trashy, unsightly, often infested with all manner of vermin rental property, has more than double in the last 6 years. These homes tents turn over 3 to 4 times a year in many cases, and are often occupied by more than one family group. Life long & new residents find themselves held hostage to gangs of unsupervised hoodlums, halfway houses and criminals who roam our streets. They are forced to ask for help from our over stretched Police Department, that already have their hands full baby sitting all of local low income apartments that have also increase under Dum & Dummer (JO & GR) over the same 6 year period. Home Depot moved partly due to the crime, forced upon them by the criminals who live behind their WS location. These people (criminals) stole from the contractors who parked in the HD parking lot and from the store itself 24 hours a day, everyday. Then neighbor is pitted against neighbor, when one of two are forced to call WS Code Enforcement, another under staffed, over stretched public department. James Ouzts & Gunnar Rasmussen have been no friend to business or citizens in the last 6 years. Stop the insanity and vote NOT to Re-Elected 'Dum n Dummer' James Ouzts & Gunnar Rasmussen, enough of their vision for us and our city.

It is not the WHITE in White Settlement name that is holding back new business from moving to our town. It is not the City Manager, or City Secretary, we have at least three different people in those positions in 6 years. It is not any those on the City Council because all of those have changed, 'with the exception of James Ouzts & Gunnar Rasmussen. It is not any of the City employee's either'. How about the two at the top of the food chain taking responsability? Because they are both to narcissistic to able to see they are wrong about anything........
They are Wrong for our city and must go!
Vote NO to Re-electing James Ouzts and vote for GENE HATCHER to replace Gunnar Rasmussen. Let's take our city back from the carpetbaggers.

in 6 years we (White Settlement) have had several changes on the city council, in 6 years we have had at least 3 city manager (Jimmy B is the best CM we have had in recent memory). Isn't it time after '6 long years', that James Ouzts and Gunnar Rasmussen take responsibility for what's wrong in our city? Please VOTE, and please vote for a 'positive change' VOTE "NO" to RE-ELECTING James Ouzts and vote for Gene Hatcher to replace Gunnar R.

it is the fault of the council when you are told by one such as danny anderson to get rid of a ticket. if you refuse you then have a target on your back for the mayor and council to watch for the slightest mistake. 20.03.08 15:10 Gaylord Riley
I spoke with city hall and was told that the code enforcement officer(s) are responsible. I asked who they worked for and was told they reported to the city manager. So, is it the fault of the manager or the council and mayor? Who? 20.03.08 12:33 just speaking my mind

So what you are saying is, that by encouraging home owner ship, and holding everyone to the same rules, codes & laws, property values will go up, which will increase tax revenue? That's a good idea man, because then the quality of life would be better for all citizens, not just a few. You must be a idea man, man...

renters/tents deserve clean and well maintained housing. substandard homes that are not brought up to current city code, should be offered to the renters/tents with a option to buy. generally when people own something they tend to take better care of it. most i believe would be willing to put in sweet equity. all the current focus seems to be on cramming more and more people into smaller and smaller spaces. what about those of us who are already here, and have been here through all the ups and downs? home owns comply with city code, keep our yards keep up, pay our high taxes, we pay our high water rates and the fee's. enough apartments & duplexes already.

Why is Communities and Local Government should be concerned about empty homes?
Anyone who is unfortunate enough to have lived next door to a property that has been left empty for a long period of time will understand the sheer frustration and misery such a situation can create. Poorly maintained empty properties are not only unsightly and unattractive, they seriously reduce the value of adjoining properties.
As the government department responsible for shaping housing policy in England, how the existing housing stock is used falls squarely within Communities and Local Government's remit. It is important to maximise use of the existing housing stock so that we can minimise the number of new homes that need to be built each year, particularly in areas of the country where housing demand is high, such as the south east of England.
Empty homes not only restrict housing supply, they also detract from the quality of the local environment and can cause significant problems for local residents. Poorly maintained empty homes attract vermin, cause damp and other problems for neighbouring properties and are magnets for vandals, squatters, drug dealers and arsonists.

I am not a supporter of Anderson. I think he bullied City Manager Daniels into leaving his junky, trashy house alone. According to a former city inspector, the "permit" Anderson had was expired.
