liquor was in this town long before the wet dry vote. it was brought in by his neighbors and my neighbors. so what?
the only thing the election did was to allow wine and beer sales in grocery stores for off premise use, like at home.
liquor can be sold in restaurants if they sell food. in fact, according to TABC rules and regulations, before getting a permit the restautrant has to submit a menu copy showing they have at least (7 or 8 ?) entree items, not popcorn - peanuts - chips, etc.
according to the "other" news paper in town, there is going to be a new restaurant here soon, and they will sell BOOZE and have a dance floor!

The city had been wet for years since the 40's . They voted it dry but no one ever took the outcome of the election down to be recorded , so that left it wet. This last wet-dry election wasn't necessary because it was already wet. But Quzts wanted everything done on the up & up, so we had another election on wet -dry and wet won again. Liquor can not be sold in the city limits, only beer and it has to be where so much food is sold, and for off premises drinking. It is always the same old bitching you do over & over again. And if you think it will make a difference if we don't sell beer in our city limits, your right everyone will go across the bridge or under the bridge in any direction into Ft. Worth and buy their beer and all the tax dollars we do get off the beer will go to Ft. Worth and we will still have people drinking here and throwing their trash out .
