message: Some photos of Brian T Strollers taken by Alan Senior on the night can be viewed at  http://www.thenomads.co.uk/nomadphotos.html

Rockband The evening seemed to be enjoyed by all that attended, it was nice to see some new faces among the audience, and some surprisingly had never seen either band before!!     Faint
Brian T Strollers had everyone on the dance floor from the word go and kept them there popping and jiving the night away. For anyone that did not attend, or have never seen Brian T before, I recommend them as a must see group.  Good
A couple of people took a while to work out why the base players in both bands looked similar!  Cuckoo

Sad Unfortunately not all the tickets were sold, so less money to Manor Lands. Whether poor ticket sales will have an effect on future events remains to be seen, but updates will be placed here on the message board.
The next planed event is for next October.  Weep Can we wait that long?

Applause Thanks must be given to the ladies who once again pulled out all the stops to organise an evening that went without a hitch, anyone that’s ever organised an event will appreciate all the time and effort involved in bringing such an event together. This can not have been an easy task while dealing with personal bereavement.

Hopefully the amount raised will be posted very shortly after all the sums have been done.
£1000 was raised, with an amount carried over for advertising etc for the next event.

message: Snow The only real snow of the season just had to make its appearance on the evening of the event. But snow or no snow, being real troopers the event went ahead, even if key people were late arriving, like the organisers, staff for the bar etc, made what should have been a smooth start less than so, but this proved to be only a minor hiccup and normal services were soon resumed, there was also one band member who had to battle his way heroically through the blizzard to get there, better late than never.
    Hurrah!

Unfortunately there were a number of people who were because of road conditions unable to attend. The evening thinned out much early than normal as people worried about getting home.
What was more worrying was the amount of people that went home, not because of the snow, but because there is now no smoking in Victoria Hall!!!
Anyone unable to last for a few hours without the weed will need to bare this in mind for any future events, it was not the organisers who instigated this but the council who own the building, and of course from July 1st smoking is banned in all public buildings. Smoking is allowed outside for those that “must” partake.
    Smoker

Regardless an excellent night was had by all that did brave the elements.  Also it was nice to see Colin being back where he belongs and even though he is now in a lot of pain this was not reflected in his playing.

Head of photography and film   (cough, splutter) Peter Hastings was as always present with his trusty camera. He was sporting one of his “interesting” shirts which are now becoming his trade mark.
    Wink
Sadly the stills photographer, Nick Sanderson was away on holiday, so if anyone took any still photos could they let us have a copy please.

Soul Provider, a boy girl duo Lisa and Garry were the support act and went down very well with the audience and dancers.

Spike made a promise to do a profile for himself for the web site, for some reason he thinks his musical career won’t be of interest, out of the whole band he probable as had a more varied musical career then any of them, and also the only person who knows all the other people that have ever played with the band.
So Spike, now you have to do it, there were witnesses and now its here for all to see, so get on with it Spike.
    Threatening
