Hi all, another Basnett here.  In the US, the Basnet name evolved in to Basnight.  The original Basnet that I found was William Basnet that came to Lower Norfolk County, Lynnhaven Parish, Virginia around 1637.  They later moved to North Carolina and then branched out to several other states from there.  I haven't found in England where he was originally from, that's the brick wall I've run into.  I have also run across a Richard Basnet in Burlington, NJ during the 1690s and John Basnet in Virginia also in the 1600s.  I'm happy to share my packet of info, it's in MS Word.  Nice seeing this website.

Hey,i was born in Aylesbury and lived in Berkhamstead as a little kid. I have a sister Jackie and brother Richard. My dad is a Brian Basnett and his dad was Thomas Basnett. I also have an Uncle called Adrian.
I think our family origanally came from Yorkshire way, i don't know anything else about our family, may ask my dad for any more info.

Our family were orginally from Preswich, they were all watch makers. My Great, Great Grandmother was a lady by the name of Jane Hartwell she was married to Issac Bassnett. I can trace it back futher still, but am interested in finding the family that emigrated to the US. My Grandfather knows that 3 of his Aunts move out and one was called Ruth. My beloved grandad has now pasted on, his mother was Amelia she was a bit of a girl and had quite a tough life. Do you have any leads I could follow.

My name is Matthew Basnett, son of Merle Basnett. I am also married to my wife Shannon Basnett, with our 2 children Seth and Zoe Basnett. I was borne in Denver, CO and my father was born in Kansas. Howdy y'all! Greetings from Texas. I was AMAZED to see so many people named Basnett! My Dad's family was in West Virginia. I have four grown children and three grandchildren. For years, we've been the only Basnetts in the book wherever we lived. This is incredible!

Son of Harold, who was also son of Harold.
 
I was born at Stepping Hill hospital, Stockport in 1979.
 
Be interesting to see how all the families link together as I'm sure they must do somewhere along the line.

On the old guestbook,a person called GRAHAM left a post saying about Basnetts Family,
In Particular he mentioned a Ken Basnett who was a police office in Donnigton Shropshire,
I was a friend of Ken's and would like to know how he is,
 
So if either Graham,or anyone else can please help,please email me on my email above,
 
I am Mary Braddick(now bailey) and lived in Ruyton X1 Towns   (now living in North Wales)at the time Ken was living in Baschurch   (Police Officer)
